Details

Est. 1994. Natural sourdough fermentation. The most iconic of all our breads. This San Francisco style sourdough is made with our original mother sourdough and is famous for its natural tangy flavor, porous crumb and caramelized crust. Great bread starts with the best ingredients and all natural sourdough starters. This is why we at Izzio collaborated with our local farmers and millers to create a custom flour made from wheat we can trace back to the farm. This is how we know our flour is pure, without GMO's, and without any unnecessary enrichments or additives. Using methods that are thousands of years old, we use our custom flour to nurture each of our mother starters resulting in loaves of bread that have multiple layers of flavor. Our traditional baking and fermentation methods also help break down the gluten enabling the body to absorb more nutrients and promote good gut health. We believe that baking great bread takes time and care so that every loaf can be healthy and delicious. Please enjoy!

Handling Instructions: Since our bread is baked without preservatives, we recommend enjoying within a few days of purchase. If you need more time, we offer these suggestions: Store the bread on your counter in the plastic bag to seal in freshness for several days. If you need more time, we recommend freezing. Freeze your loaf In this bag for up to one month from date of purchase. We recommend not refrigerating your bread. Thaw bread at room temperature or place frozen slice directly in toaster or oven. Do not refreeze loaf after thawing. Refresh the bread in a toaster or oven to bring back the baked fresh goodness. Very dry bread can be re-hydrated by dabbing water on the crumb before refreshing. Toasted bread is always delicious!
