Cinnamon, sugar and apples are nestled in a flaky pie crust.
SERVES: 8
PREP TIME: 20 Minutes
COOK TIME: 30 Minutes
Ingredients

4 cups Apples, peeled and thinly sliced
3 Tbsp. Sugar
1 Tbsp. Cornstarch
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Vanilla
1 Pie Crust, prepared
1 Egg White
1 Tbsp. Water

Directions
Step 1  Step 1:
Combine 4 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples, 3 tbsps sugar, 1 tbsp cornstarch, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract.
 
Step 2  Step 2:
Place pie crust (at room temperature) on a greased baking sheet. Spoon the apple mixture into the center of the pie crust to within 2 inches of the edge.
 
Step 3  Step 3:
Fold the edge of the pie crust over the apple mixture. Brush the exposed crust with an egg wash (one egg white whipped with 1 tbsp water).
 
Step 4  Step 4:
Bake at 450 degrees for about 30 minutes, or until apples are tender and the crust is golden. Serve warm from the oven with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
